Magnificent 7pc. Fire Dept. Apparatus Set by Hubley. Unused store stock, complete, and never played with. Provenance from the famed Donald Kaufman collection founder of KB Toys. Purchased through Bertoia Auctions; graded "near mint+ to mint". Comes complete with original box and insert. Includes original auction hang tag.

Historic "cross-over" set produced when the toy industry was undergoing significant post-war changes. Includes the following:

Ladder Truck - 7½" (not including ladder), painted die cast body, nickel plated cast iron windshield frame, plastic ladder, rubber tires. Embossed Hubley Kiddie Toy No. 463. Ladder swivels and raises manually. 

Pumper Truck - 7½", painted die cast body & pump, nickel plated cast iron windshield frame, rubber tires. No ID marks. 

Fire Patrol Motorcycle - 4¼", painted cast iron body and figure, rubber tires. In production since mid-1930's. 

Fire Chief Sedan - 5¾", red plastic body with two-tone paint, black tread rubber tires. Embossed "Fire Chief" in gold letters on front hood. Identified as Hubley Kiddietoy with no catalog number. 

Fire Axes (2) - 3", nickel plated cast iron with red painted handle tip, unmarked 

Junior Fire Chief Badge - 2", gold finished die cast metal with original pin. Marked Tootsietoy on reverse. 

Box cover (15" x 11" x 2½") printed with the four vehicles in, and around, fire house entrance. Hubley Fire Dept. and Fire Apparatus Scale Models printed in bold red letters. Front and rear aprons show side views of vehicles. Side aprons include toy name, catalog number and advertising. Original $2.98 price written in grease pencil on one end. Includes die cut insert  precisely fits vehicles and axes. Box bottom is unprinted.
